Evening talk by and discussion with Johann Kollegger, Head of Research Programme for Reinforced Concrete and Solid Construction at TU Wien.

In the summer term, TU Vision 2025+ was dealing with the impact of technical developments and innovations on different areas of society and thus featured the role of engineering science and technology as pioneer and facilitator of processes for change.

As an introduction to the topic, Johann Kollegger, head of the research area Reinforced Concrete and Solid Construction, explained how engineering achievements can be transformed into sustainable innovations, driven by the aspiration to best meet society’s challenges. Innovations like these, eventually, enable to showcase and measure the real value of engineering science.
